Grounds Day September 2021
On Saturday 25th September, a team of wonderful families joined Mr Hateley and Miss Johnson in restoring the allotment ready for the academic year. Following the 6 week holiday, the weeds and grass had overtaken the plot and it needed a lot of elbow grease to get it back looking ship-shape.
Thank you to all who helped and the children can get on with planting!
Reception have been busy planting daffodils. We hope they will attract some insects.
Year 1 have planted garlic and are hoping to make garlic bread at Forest School in the Summer.
In our allotment we have been working hard – come rain or shine!
We have completed Level 1 of the RHS School Gardening Awards.
Year 2 have weeded the raised beds and have planted broad beans. Will they grow strong?
Some of the children in Year 3 have planted red onions.
